E.J. Humphrey |
Eric “Teck” Humphries is Jeff “Smooth” Hughes, a rapper on the rise at Focus Records. Jeff was discovered by Sid Vic, CEO of Focus, while he was still in high school. Despite the warnings from friends and family, Jeff elected to drop out of high school and follow Vic’s plan of success for him. It worked. Jeff took on the stage alias Smooth full time, and began his career which led him to a top selling album, and on his way to a big contract extension. Yes, all is fine in Smooth’s world, until an unfortunate incident and a life altering experience after a concert redirect his path in life. |
Ed Roan |
Ed Roan portrays SID VIC, or Sid “Vicious” Vic in some circles. A spiritual man in his own eye, Vic is the CEO of the up and coming Focus Records recording label. After being told he could never do it, Vic built the company from nothing, in the face of adversity and against the odds, and turned that nothing into a label to be respected; a major necessity in Vic’s life. Of course, Vic did not get the name “Vicious” by being nice. He has a reputation of being a forceful individual, and his pathway to success may not have always been the Straight & Narrow. Sid personally took Smooth under his wing, making sure he was well taken cared for, and now he finds himself at odds with him. |
![]() Ron A. Williams |
Ron A. Williams portrays DETECTIVE. DUANE LEWIS, the top cop. Very free and also very trusted by the powers of the police force despite his free style of working. His cool demeanor has allow him to make end roads with the lowest of the low, and somehow, they don’t mind that he is a somewhat by the book officer. Lewis does everything with the mindset of “a means to an end”, and he believes that his work and planning will undoubtedly pay off. Lewis’ history with Vic and Smooth goes way back to before the two met, and though contentious, they all play well, until Smooth’s experience seems to throw a wrench in the program Lewis has built. |
Michelle Rice |
Michelle Rice portrays CAPT. BAKER, top cop. After the surprise appointment of Baker as the department’s first female captain, Baker gave no reason to doubt her ability to lead the boys of the unit. Straight-shooter who has seen it all, and has mastered the art of hiding her emotions. What impressed the higher ups most about her, is the way that she leaves work at the office and still is as sharp as any they have ever seen. She is especially able to handle Lewis and his reckless antics. No one dare questions her judgment, and her orders are followed without hesitation. |
Dave Miller |
David “YB” Miller portrays DET. GREG MCCALISTER, the smooth-talking partner of Det. Lewis. The two are the perfect duo; McCalister overlooks Lewis’ risky methods, and Lewis overlooks McCalister’s gambling habit, until he sees it as destructive to Greg’s family life. Mac, as Lewis calls him, has always been there for Lewis. His care-free nature has been the calming force when situations become heated, and it is the strength of his success; which is puzzling to many. |
Ron Byrd |
Ron Byrd portrays DET. ARNEZ LINDEN. Linden is the new guy affectionately referred to as “Nebraska” by the other detectives. The definition of “by the book”, Linden is clean cut and no non-sense, which creates problems when he is teamed with Lewis and McCalister. Linden believes in the letter of the law, and that is how has become the phenom who has captured the interest of the FBI. |
Katrina Butler |
Katrina Butler is ROBIN LEWIS. A successful defense attorney whose brother is a detective would appear to be a big contrast in the family, but the relationship between Robin and her brother, Det. Lewis, is strong enough to never let their careers interfere with the family. Robin is driven in her profession, yet grounded in her faith, which gives her a balance and proves to be very valuable and comforting. |
![]() Jason Blunt |
Jason Blount is VINCENT, Sid Vic’s right hand man. Every CEO needs one, especially one with the life of Sid Vic. Vincent, who’s mostly known by many as “The Quiet Assassin”, has been with Vic since the beginning, and now handles the majority of Vic’s activity outside of the Focus, which simply means: he is not the guy you want to take a ride with. Vincent also oversees the finances, putting his Yale education to good use. |
